it has potential, but I found a bug straight away, after loosing a life and crashing into another bad pirate immediately the entire game stops moving, but the background is still animated and the music still plays (not crashed, just.. stopped moving)
also I think there should be a menu with a tutorial, an options button with sound controll and flash quality options etc for the rest of the movie.
very addictive, but i found a bug at the red/black monster with the small circles orbiting arround it, I killed the monster and my point total is now 86125, the arrow appeard with the word "go" then after a while, while the monsters attacks were still hitting me, the arrow went away, and I am now stuck on a screen with a dead boss!
the flash itself wasn't great, just a flick-through of a few images with some text, but I did like the content, and I think you worded some of it well, just maybe slow it down a bit with the long-texts, because it's hard to read all of it.
and as other reviewers have said, the wrong music.
I couldn't have worded it better than Perriwinkle has done, so I will not.

second: that was a short flash, but used up 2.9mb, you need to compress the audio a bit (I'm assuming you included the whole mp3 file)
third: the intros are a bit long, maybe include a skip-intro button.
I like what i've seen for a first flash, most people who do end up submitting their first flash work to newgrounds end up submitting really.. really useless stick animations that last 2 seconds...

good, but bugged

Mhmmm... after a late night work on this my sister called me for breakfast I told her to come and play on this game i jst completed...
she spazed out at the end, it was one of the most proudest moments of my life
